    Route guide

Jeddah to Dubai is one of the longest drives we run: about 2,000 km from the Red Sea, across Saudi Arabia and into the UAE. It is mostly booked by people relocating with a lot of luggage, families who prefer not to fly with small children, and travellers who want a stop in Riyadh along the way. A Saudi driver takes you to the border, and a UAE driver finishes the trip to your door in Dubai.

    Travel time & distance

    Duration

    ~2 days recommended

    Distance

    ~2,000 km

The full journey is roughly 24 to 25 hours of driving and border time. Border processing at Al Batha / Al Ghuwaifat, traffic out of Jeddah and around Riyadh, and the number of rest stops all play a part. Most clients split it into two days.

For journeys of this length, we generally recommend splitting the trip into two days with an overnight stop, typically in Riyadh. This allows for a more comfortable and well-paced journey. However, it is also possible to complete the transfer in one continuous trip if preferred.

Two days with a night in Riyadh

We generally recommend breaking this trip with an overnight stop in Riyadh. Day one covers the long run inland from Jeddah. Day two takes you east to the UAE border and on to Dubai. You choose the hotel, and your driver picks you up again the next morning.

    4. 4UAE entry: passport, visa and customs checks
    5. 5Your UAE driver meets you and continues to Dubai

A second vehicle with a fresh driver will be waiting after the border to continue your journey. The entire process is coordinated in advance to minimise waiting times and ensure a seamless experience.

    Frequently asked questions

How long does the Jeddah to Dubai transfer take?

Most clients split this drive over two days with an overnight stop. A same-day drive is possible on request with two drivers.

Do I stay in the same vehicle throughout the journey?

No. On this route, passengers normally change vehicles at the border. You complete immigration and customs formalities at each post, and your next driver is waiting for you on the other side.

What travel documents do I need?

You must carry a valid passport and meet the visa or entry requirements for the UAE. We recommend checking the latest requirements before travelling.

Can I be picked up from the airport?

Yes. Airport pickup can be arranged where relevant, along with hotel, residence, and office pickup.

    What if flights are impacted?

If flights are impacted, Platinumride can arrange private cross-border ground transfers between major Gulf hubs as a reliable alternative to air travel.

How much is a private transfer from Jeddah to Dubai?

A sedan is from SAR 8,400, an SUV from SAR 12,200 and a van from SAR 13,900, and a luxury sedan vehicle is from SAR 14,700. Prices are per vehicle, not per person, and the final price depends on your exact pick‑up and drop‑off.

Is the Riyadh hotel part of the price?

No. The transfer covers the driving, fuel, tolls and border assistance. You book and pay for your own hotel.

Which vehicle suits a family move?

The van carries the most luggage. An SUV works well for a family with a few large cases.

Can I cancel if my plans change?

Yes. Cancellation is free up to 24 hours before pick‑up.

Do you drive from Dubai to Jeddah too?

Yes, with the border handover in the other direction. Dubai to Jeddah
