Overview
Al Khobar is the Eastern Province's coastal city, home to the Corniche, Half Moon Bay and many of the expat families who work in neighbouring Dhahran. It is also the gateway to Bahrain, with the King Fahd Causeway starting just outside town. Platinumride runs private, door-to-door transfers from Khobar to Bahrain, Riyadh, Doha, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Kuwait, Muscat and Jeddah, and back again. Prices are per vehicle, fuel and tolls are included, and you can book on WhatsApp. Choose a sedan, SUV or van, and we will collect you from your home, hotel, office or compound.
Popular routes from Al Khobar
Riyadh is the quickest domestic run, about 4 hours in one car with no border. Doha is around 5 hours and also stays in one car through Salwa and Abu Samra. Kuwait takes 6 to 7 hours with a car change at Al Khafji. For the UAE, Abu Dhabi is about 8 to 9 hours and Dubai about 9, with a handover at Al Batha. Muscat and Jeddah are long journeys that most travellers split over two days.
Bahrain across the causeway
Because the King Fahd Causeway starts just outside Khobar, Bahrain is only about an hour away. The same car and driver take you across, the toll is included, and we can drop you in Manama, Seef, Juffair or at Bahrain International Airport (BAH). Many Khobar residents fly out of BAH, and plenty of visitors land there and finish the trip by road. Leave extra time at weekends and on holidays, when the causeway is busiest.
King Fahd International Airport (DMM)
DMM sits well north of Dammam, so it is a fair drive from Khobar. We meet arrivals with flight tracking and 60 minutes of free waiting after landing, and can take you straight on to Khobar, Dhahran, Bahrain or further afield. For departures, tell us your flight time and we will plan a pick-up with a comfortable buffer.

Frequently asked questions
Which areas of Al Khobar do you cover?
We collect and drop off across Al Khobar, including the Corniche, Al Olaya, Al Rakah, Al Aqrabiyah, Al Thuqbah and Half Moon Bay. We also cover Dhahran and the residential compounds. Give us the exact address or compound name when you book, and your driver comes to your door.
How long does it take to drive from Al Khobar to Bahrain?
About an hour outside peak times, as the King Fahd Causeway starts just outside Khobar. The busiest times are Thursday afternoon and evening heading into Bahrain, and Friday and Saturday evening coming back. Holidays such as Eid bring the longest waits, so we build in extra time on those days. The same car and driver take you all the way.
Is the King Fahd Causeway toll included?
Yes. The causeway toll has been SAR 35 per car since February 2026, and it is already included in our price. There is nothing to pay at the toll booth, and fuel and other road tolls on your route are covered too.
Which routes keep the same car, and which involve a car change?
Bahrain, via the King Fahd Causeway, and Doha, via Salwa and Abu Samra, keep the same car and driver from door to door, and Riyadh, Dammam and Jeddah have no border at all. For the UAE you change cars at Al Batha / Al Ghuwaifat, crossing between the posts by free shuttle bus or taxi (about SAR 300-400, paid locally), and your UAE driver is waiting on the other side. For Kuwait the change is at Al Khafji / Al Nuwaiseeb, at an agreed handover point we confirm with you before the trip. Muscat has two changes: at the Saudi-UAE border and again at the UAE-Oman border.
What do I need to cross into Bahrain?
Everyone needs a valid passport. Saudi residents also need their residence permit and a valid exit and re-entry visa. GCC nationals do not need a Bahrain visa, and many other nationalities can get a Bahrain eVisa or a visa on arrival. Rules change, so check the requirements for your passport before you travel.
Can I fly into Bahrain and continue to Al Khobar by road?
Yes. Many travellers land at Bahrain International Airport (BAH) and finish the trip by car. Your driver meets you at arrivals and drives you across the causeway to your door in Khobar or Dhahran. Share your flight number when you book so we can plan the pick-up around it.
Do you pick up from King Fahd International Airport (DMM)?
Yes. We track your flight and include 60 minutes of free waiting after landing, so there is no rush if your flight is late or immigration is slow. DMM sits well north of Dammam, so allow for the drive into Khobar. From the airport we can also take you straight on to Dhahran, Bahrain or further afield.
How are prices calculated, and what is included?
Every price is per vehicle, not per person, so a family or group shares one fare. You choose a sedan, SUV or van to suit your passengers and luggage. Fuel, road tolls, the causeway toll and border coordination are included. Visas and entry fees are not.
How do I pay, and can I cancel?
You can pay securely by card through Stripe, with Apple Pay or Google Pay, or by bank transfer. Cancellation is free up to 24 hours before pick-up. If your plans change, message us on WhatsApp and we will sort it out.
Can you take me to events like Riyadh Season or the Bahrain Grand Prix?
Yes. Riyadh Season takes place in the capital, about 4 hours from Khobar by road, and the Bahrain Grand Prix is held at Sakhir in March 2027, a short drive across the causeway. Book early for event dates, when the roads and the causeway are busier than usual, and we can arrange your return trip at the same time.
